FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Covington, KY ~ March 6, 2020] Dr. Elias Anaissie, Medical Director at CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting (CTI), a global, privately held, full-service contract research organization, will be directing the Tri-State American Society of Hematology (ASH) Update on Saturday, March 7 in Cincinnati, OH. The annual update will take place at the Hyatt hotel in downtown Cincinnati, OH.
This will be the second year that Dr. Anaissie has served as Program Director for the conference. He will be joined by Co-Director Dr. James H. Essell, Medical Director at the Blood Cancer Center at The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health. Together they will lead discussions on current and emerging therapies in the hematology and oncology spaces.

The 2020 Tri-State ASH Update will bring national experts in Hematology/Oncology research and clinical practice together with community-based practitioners, in a setting that will facilitate personal interaction, to explore the advancements presented at the 61st ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition. The Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology is the preeminent medical forum for the dissemination of information regarding the latest scientific advances in the diagnoses and treatment of hematological malignancies.
Dr. Elias Anaissie is a specialist in Hematology/Oncology with emphasis on hematologic cancers and Stem Cell / Bone Marrow Transplantation (SCT / BMT) as well as Infectious Disease with emphasis on infections in critically ill immunocompromised patients. Dr. Anaissie brings with him more than 30 years of clinical, research, and academic experience. Prior to joining CTI, Dr. Anaissie served as Director, Program in Hematological Malignancies and BMT at the University of Cincinnati while simultaneously working as an Attending Physician, Hematology/oncology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He also has a long tenure as a journal reviewer for various publications and is a member of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA).
