CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services Announces Business Development Expansion
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Cincinnati, OH ~ February 9, 2017] CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services (CTI), a multi-national, privately held, full-service contract research organization announces the addition of three Business Development Directors: Caro Barth has joined as Sr. Director, Business Development Europe, Ilse Gonella has joined as Director, Business Development Europe, and Robert Wessel has joined as Director, Business Development.

Caro Barth joins as Senior Director, Business Development Europe
Barth joins CTI as Senior Director, Business Development Europe, with nearly two decades of experience in clinical research. She will focus on further developing CTI's presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Barth has extensive experience in the clinical research industry, both with business development and clinical monitoring. Prior to joining CTI, she worked for INC Research as Director, Business Development, where she was responsible for all facets of sales and account management, including relationship building and account strategy. Barth earned her degree in Strategic Management, Marketing, and Human Resource Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz, Germany.
Ilse Gonella joins as Director, Business Development Europe
Gonella joins CTI as Director, Business Development Europe, with nearly 25 years of experience in the industry, in business development and clinical monitoring. She will focus on further developing CTI's presence in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Gonella spent nearly twenty years with Abbott Pharmaceutical in both business development and clinical monitoring roles, with an emphasis on immunology based clinical trials. Most recently, Gonella held positions with Chiltern as both a Clinical Research Associate and a Business Development Director. Gonella earned her Bachelor degree in law studies from UFSAL Brussels, her Master of Science in Criminology from VUB Brussels, and her Master degree in Marketing Management from EHSAL Brussels.
Robert Wessel joins as Director, Business Development
Robert Wessel joins CTI as Director, Business Development with more than 20 years of experience in the clinical research industry, with an emphasis in clinical pharmacology. He will be focusing on expanding the early phase service offerings for the CTI Clinical Research Center. Wessel comes to CTI from Spaulding Clinical where he was a Director of Business Development. Prior to Spaulding, he held various Business Development and Operations roles with Medpace, SFBC International and Phoenix International Life Sciences. Wessel earned his Bachelor in Biology from Bellarmine University.
