CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services Announces New Directors for Business Development & Human Resources
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Cincinnati, OH ~ September 3, 2015] CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services (CTI), a multi-national, privately held, full-service contract research organization announces that Patrick Dearing has joined as Executive Director, Global Human Resources and Richard Miller has joined as Senior Director, Business Development.
Patrick Dearing, MBA joins as Executive Director, Global Human Resources
Patrick Dearing, MBA joins CTI as Executive Director, Global Human Resources, with over two decades of human resource and benefits experience. He will be responsible for directing CTI’s compensation and benefits programs, in addition to developing global strategic growth for the Human Resource department.

Prior to CTI, Dearing worked at Convergys Corporation as Senior Director, Global Benefits where he led the transition of U.S. healthcare plans to private insurance exchanges in response to the Affordable Care Act impact, in addition to managing all other aspects of global benefits. He also worked at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center as Director of Benefits, where he oversaw new initiatives and strategies aimed at maintaining and improving employee benefit programs. Dearing earned his Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a Master in Business Administration from Xavier University.
Richard Miller joins as Senior Director, Business Development
Richard Miller joins CTI as Senior Director, Business Development, with more than 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in sales, marketing, clinical research, and corporate development, including therapeutic experience in solid organ transplantation, hematology, hepatology, nephrology, and infectious disease.
“Richard’s extensive established relationships with key thought leaders and investigators, along with his deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry will be a valuable asset for CTI,” according to Joseph McCafferty, Vice President, North American Sales. “We look forward to his contributions to the Business Development team.”
Before CTI, Miller worked at Astellas Pharma where he held a series of leadership positions in Astellas’ Immunology Franchise, including Vice President of Strategic Relations, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Senior Director of Medical Science Liaisons. During his tenure of leading the Astellas’ Immunology Sales and Marketing team, their Immunology franchise realized $1B in yearly sales of Prograf® (tacrolimus) and obtained the market leadership position for calcineurin inhibitors. Prior to Astellas Pharma, Miller held various leadership positions at Ortho Biotech (a Johnson & Johnson company), working with the first FDA-approved monoclonal antibody, Orthoclone OKT®3.
